Matt Grundy joined RIPCO in July 2015 and has extensive experience representing landlords, developers, and tenants throughout New Jersey. Matt has a track record of finalizing deals with national tenants such as Lidl, Dollar Tree, Kiddie Academy, Pearle Vision, Atlantic Health System, AutoZone, Pet Supplies Plus, Starbucks, Chipotle, Taco Bell, Playa Bowls, Blue Foundry Bank, and Orangetheory Fitness, among many others.
Past and current ground up development projects include the Crossing at 10 in Morris Plains 100,000 SF retail on Route 10, North Village in Sparta 140,000 SF Shoprite anchored center, and Fairfield 21,500 SF strip center on Route 46. Matt’s involvement in these projects is key to helping developers optimize their site plan to best fit the needs of national retailers and franchise tenants for the long term success of the shopping center.
Matt’s exclusive landlord representation includes local and regional private owners, as well as a number of publicly traded REITs. He has exclusively represented shopping centers owned by Urban Edge Properties (NYSE: UE), Regency Centers Corporation (NYSE: REG) & Kimco Realty Corp (NYSE: KIM).
On the tenant side of his business, Matt has been successful in leading the charge of the NJ expansion for Shake Shack and Honeygrow securing 10+ new locations combined and counting. Also representing The UPS Store in 25+ deals, Xponential Fitness in 8+ deals, and Turning Point. Matt was instrumental in helping Verizon Wireless open a flagship store in American Dream Mall. As well as helping a national self-storage client purchase two high-profile sites in Denville and Mahwah.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and a minor in Economics from Montclair State University. He is a licensed Salesperson in the state of New Jersey and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Born and raised in Bergen County, Matt currently lives in Midland Park with his wife Katie, and daughter Brooke.
